9-9

Good Morning!

I woke up to it being 63 degrees in Arizona and it’s June!!! I still have my windows open and I am loving it. I wake up usually between 4-5:00am every day so I open the windows up to get fresh air. I am usually able to do this until the end of May because it’s too hot even that early in the morning to open windows.

My sister starts chemo today. I can’t imagine what she is going through. She has to be so scared knowing she has cancer again and in her words “she is fucked”. I pray for her daily and send her lots of healing and love. I wish I could do more. My sister has been mad at me for moving back to Arizona in 2015 so she has been distant. I know many people that continue to talk all the time, video chat, email, etc to keep in contact. Does my sister do this? Nope. She likes to get together and sit outside with coffee and chat face to face. I love doing that with her! I can’t change her emotions or make her feel or think differently. I continue to text and support her in the best manner I am able to do. It is not just me that she has been distant with, she does it with my oldest sister, her mom (we have different mothers), our brother, etc etc. When the time comes she wants me to come to her I will. In all honesty I don’t know what to say to my sister about her cancer. I want to tell her everyday how much I love her and I want to tell her she’s got this. I don’t want to be a pain in the ass so I text a heart, a kissy face, an I love you, or a picture that makes me think of her. I know how she is because our older sister does get on her nerves with texting too much stuff. UGH!

I will be going through the kitchen this week cleaning and decluttering drawers and cabinets, organizing the pantry (this will prove interesting), and cleaning the fridge. I did the drawers yesterday and today will be the top cabinets. I found this young lady on YouTube named Hermione Chantal and she is awesome. She has a lot of DIYs that she does to her home. She is a cutie and has some brilliant ideas. I have been wanting to makeover my patio so I can enjoy it especially since I have been home since the beginning  of March. I have a landscaper coming Saturday to clean up all the weeds in the backyard and trim the bushes in the front. I am so excited. I am trying to keep the house tidy, organized, decluttered, and looking good. So far so good :).

Tomorrow marks 3 years that I have been vegetarian/vegan! Time sure flies. I following more of a low fat Plant Based Whole Food way of eating and I am losing weight away. Mastering Diabetes says to keep fats at 30 grams a day. I tend to do between 30-40 and it is going well. I found another YouTuber Plantiful Kiki and I LOVE her! She has given me so many awesome ideas for my food and prepping it. I had to be careful with foods like rice, pasta, potatoes, oatmeal, and quinoa. So far I do well with potatoes and oatmeal. I can only have about 2 tablespoons of rice. I haven’t tried quinoa yet so I’m not sure. I usually have a salad then I move to eating my veggies then the starch. My sugars do awesome. This type of eating is from Dr. McDougall’s The Starch Solution. I found the more veggies and fruits I eat with having my fats low I feel amazing and my energy is through the roof. I will have to meal prep more when I go back to work in August but that’s ok. I will start practicing now so I’m not so overwhelmed.

Well my kitchen is calling my name. Have a great day! Be blessed
